On August 1, 2025, we officially launched Zeitzeugnis, a non-profit association dedicated to building the world’s largest high-resolution volumetric archive of eyewitness testimony.
What began as an idea in 2018, when Sven Bliedung von der Heide and Torsten Schimmer opened Germany’s first volumetric capture studio, has now become a global initiative. While our technology was originally developed for Hollywood productions, our vision was always greater: to preserve human memory in its most authentic form.
Since then, we have worked with survivors, witnesses, universities, museums, and cultural institutions worldwide to capture stories that must not be forgotten. With the founding of Zeitzeugnis, we now provide a dedicated entity to coordinate international efforts, safeguard the archive, and expand new recordings for future generations.
Our mission is clear:
- Record eyewitness accounts in lifelike 3D, capturing voice, gesture, and presence.
- Preserve them with archival-grade workflows and strict rights protection.
- Share them ethically with educators, researchers, and the public to ensure history remains vivid and accessible.
This launch marks the next chapter in our journey — transforming cutting-edge volumetric technology into a living archive of memory. Together with our partners and supporters, we will continue to record as many testimonies as possible, ensuring that voices of the past remain present for generations to come.
Zeitzeugnis – because memory deserves depth.
